I originally wrote MIDIKeys for personal use with no intention of releasing it as SHAREWARE. I had alot of sequenced songs that I neglected to document, and forgotten the specific chords that were used (I could have listened to the sequences and tried to figure it out by ear, but...). I needed a utility that could read MIDI data and display it on a keyboard graphic, allowing me to 'see' the chords that I had played. I did have some utilities that could read and display the raw data, but reconstructing chords from MIDI note numbers was not my idea of fun.
I began to write MIDIKeys. Version 1.0 had only a keyboard display. I decided that this might be a useful item to other MIDI users, so I included other important information.
For MIDIKeys 2.1 I added filters, channel selection, thru on or off (it was permanetly on in version 2.0.2), a display clear and the option to have the window open or closed. I also fixed a few bugs. If 'Cancel' was selected in a dialog, the display indicated the correct state, but it was not properly cancelled.
Please try MIDIKeys, give it to anyone who uses MIDI, or whomever you think might benefit from this program. Keep in mind that MIDIKeys is
